While golf is not a major sport along the Riviera Maya, it is definitely catching on. Other than the resort courses in Cancun, visitors to the Riviera Maya can play in the resort area just south of Playa del Carmen (Playacar) and farther to the south in Bacalar - an area famous for its lake that contains water with seven colors of blue. The number to the Playacar pro shop is 011-52-984-873-0624 and 873-0624 if calling locally.

For those staying in Puerto Aventuras, there is a delightful nine-hole course. The number to the Puerto course if dialing from the States is 011-52-984-873-5109 and 873-5109 if calling locally.

And, if you'd really like a day's adventure, take the ferry to Cozumel for a day on the links combined with some shopping and sightseeing on this beautiful island just off the coast of the Riviera Maya.
