Puerto Aventuras is the vision of developer, Roman Rivera
Torres, who, in 1984, envisioned a community built around 600 acres of stunning jungle,
beautiful beaches and turquoise water.
Now, with a 9 hole golf course, marina, commercial district, school and hundreds of permanent
residents, Puerto Aventuras is fast becoming the Riviera Maya's not-so-well-kept secret! Just
45 minutes drive south from Cancun International Airport,
this place will captivate you with
its unparalleled natural beauty. Residents and tourists alike mingle on Puerto's tranquil
streets, making it a place that is nothing, if not addictive. Situated between Playa del
Carmen and Tulum, Puerto Aventuras is perfectly located for day trips to Coba, Merida,
Cozumel or other wonderful attractions.
Puerto’s marina forms the epicenter of the town and “all roads lead to the marina” is the
absolute truth! Here you will find fine restaurants, chic boutiques and general services,
making this the perfect place to be day or night.
Puerto offers a range of activities including diving (cave and open water), snorkeling,
parasailing, tennis, golf, deep sea fishing, bicycle tours, kayaking, and even the more
strenuous activities like sipping a Margarita while dipping your toes in the ever-warm,
ever-stunning Caribbean Sea.
Whatever you idea is of a perfect vacation, Puerto has it all!
To get to Puerto Aventuras from Akumal, head north on the highway and in about 10 minutes you
will see two glorious sights; a PEMEX gas station and the entrance to Puerto Aventuras. Turn
right into Puerto, go through the security gate and follow the road to the info booth. Follow
the road as it curves to the left, and you will see the parking lot on your right. There are
usually a few taxis waiting there. Lock the car up and hoof it through the big staircase. You
will soon find yourself on the lovely Puerto Aventuras marina.
